Audio Systems: Radio, wire gauge, engine compartment

My radio goes OFF and ON everytime i increase volume. My amplifier remains ON. I change the cable running from my amplifier to battery this was fine for 2 months. Please advice me what to do. Thanks Neo.

do you have an in-line fuse at or near the battery? i have seen so many times that the fuse connection gets a little oxidized and causes problems like yours. no matter how good it looks, take fuseholder apart and clean real well with a good contact cleaner/lube like 'de-ox-id' and see if that doesn't help. i've had to change mine out a few times, they're not really designed for the changing environmental conditions of your every day engine compartment. also make sure that your wire gauge or size is large enough for your wattage....good luck...
