Audio Systems: system installation in 98 blazer, chevy blazer, rubber grommet

Question
I have a 98 chevy blazer and im installing an amp and subs. im having trouble finding a spot in the firewall to run my power cable to the battery.  please help, thankss

Answer
You must be creative for this.  Often you can squeeze the line through where the steering column passes through the firewall.  There may be a big rubber grommet which you will have to penetrate.

Also, often you must drill a hole through it with a steel bit; then be sure to plug the hole after the wires are run to keep engine air from getting into the cabin.  Use mortite or some such material for this.

AND: There should be a power line already from the factory. It may be fused and you may have to change the fuse to meet the new requirements for your fresh models.

Take a look at this site:

Down at the bottom of the pages above you will find some wiring information which may help you find the wires already in the vehicle.

Good Luck,
