Audio Systems: Amp overheating, mtx thunderform, bridging amplifiers

Question
I have a Power Acoustik 820 watt amp bridged to power 2 10" MTX 6000 subs.  The box is a MTX Thunderform in a 2003 Dodge Ram Quad Cab.  The amp will power a 4 ohm load when bridged, but I don't think I can un-bridge it because the box is only set up for mono mode.  From what I can tell, I believe my subs combined are 2 ohms.  Is there anything I can do to make this work?  Will using the RCA outputs be the same as un-bridging the amp?  Thanks.

Answer
Well, there is a big misconecption about bridging amplifiers here.  Bridging an amplifier is when you combine two channels of an amplifier to form one, more powerful channel.  Not all amps can do this however.  If the amplifier is rated 4 ohms bridged mono, and your subs are a 2 ohm load, than this setup is not ideal.  You either need to find an amp that will handle 2 ohms mono, or find new subs that will get you a 4 ohm load to the amp.
