Audio Systems: GM-Bose Retrofit, gmc envoy denali, gm cars

Question
I recently aquired a Bose MY04 amplifier assembly w/connectors that was used in the 2006 GMC Envoy & Denali, and want to install it in my 2000 Olds Silhouette Premier (minivan). Is there any wiring diagrams available or should I just get with an audio shop to have it done. I have installed my own systems in the past as long as I had a diagram to go by. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
For cross installations like this (and especially with Bose which uses unconventional systems) I strongly urge you to check the wiring very carefully AND to bench test the unit before installing it to make sure you really know what you are doing.  You need a vom (I recommend the Walmart unit at their electrical department @ $9.83) to check the 12 v lines and the speaker connections (from the amp connections out to the individual speakers  [short the speaker end leads together and look for it with ohmmeter so you know for sure each wires routing.  Label them with tape so you know beyond any shadow of a doubt where all the wires go and where they should go.]

Then, compare that with the expected wiring from the website below:

http://peripheralelectronics.com/periph_products/cd_changer_autos/instructions/g...

Then go to www.installdr.com and find a car that has the same working system that is listed in the first URL.

The wiring diagram for a whole bunch of GM cars for that era are the same.

Hope this helps.
