Audio Systems: Aftermarket Radio, pioneer car radio, chevy monte carlo

Question
I have an 1984 Chevy Monte Carlo and i just bought a new Pioneer car radio. The thing is, the wiring in the car is nothing like the wiring on the radio. In the Car there are three sets of wires, one balck, one red, and the other is white. On the radio, it is just one set of wires with one white ending where they all come together. How do i connect them together?

Answer
You must know what is going on with the radio and the car wiring.

Maybe the best thing for you to do is check with crutchfield.com and see if they have a wiring harness that will work for you.

In the worst case you may have to take the Pioneer back for one that is compatible with the Monte Carlo.

This is the site for harnesses for your car.

Also, please go to

www.installdr.com

and see what they have for you. There may be some wiring diagrams that are good for your car (such as the caprice or other similar models) but I don't think the Monte Carlo is listed.

Hope this helps.
