Audio Systems: Dodge Carvan Dash Removal, dodge carvan, phillips screws

Question
I have a 97 Caravan with 2 front speakers.  The left on works intermittently.  How do I take off the top dash to get to the speaker?  It looks like you can lift up near the speedometer and peel it off but I want your advice first.

As for speaker removal, yes the dash pad comes off, but you have to remove the instrument cluster bezel to access all the screws. There are some in the defrost vents as well if memory serves. Just take out any phillips screws you can see, and the pad should pull back and up to release the metal clips.
