Audio Systems: install a cd palyer in a 94 ford tempo gl, ford tempo gl, stereo wiring harness

Question
alright so i decided to go with the cutting of the plug idea, everything looks like it would work, all the (+) speaker wires seem to match, but there is no (-) speaker wires (for cd player), and also there are 2 wires that dont have a match with wiring harness in car (R-COMN and L-COMN) not sure what this means

please help again, so far so good

thanks a lot!

Question -
please help,

i removed the non working cassatte deck out of my 94 tempo gl, bought a cd deck and the correct wiring harness (ford 1986 - 2002). everything looked alright, but the custom stereo wiring harness and the wiring harness in the car are no match

the wiring harness in the car (the plug) is small square like and there is only one, the custom wiring harness (plug) is long and rectangular, and there are 2 of them

i have no idea what to do from here, any help is gladly apprciated

thanks in advanced

Mike

they probably sent the wrong kit or there’s some subtle variation of your vehicle that the manufacturer's of the kits ignored to notice that they used a different plug.  I have gotten many kits from www.Crutchfield.com  they give them free with the cd player along with very good photos and instructions specific to your year make and model for changing cd players, door speakers, etc.  I would see if Crutchfield sells your radio or one that you would want, return the one that's incorrect and get your new one from Crutchfield.  their website even prompts you to enter all vehicle info and shows you only the models that will fit along with any special instructions like "these units will fit as long as you chop out some of the plastic inside the dash" stuff like that.
If you dont want to go this route for any reason you can try Walmart's automotive dept, they have them hanging on the wall and you can see if it looks like yours before you buy it.
Another option would be to just cut the old connector off the car's harness and use a meter to find +12V constant, ground, and +12 triggered with the key. then use a AA or AAA battery against the remaining color pairs to locate each speaker (they will click when the battery is applied and you will know which speaker is which)  use butt connectors or solder and shrinktube or orange wirenuts to connect up to your cd player's harness.
hope that helps!  Good luck!

Answer
well this isnt typical but I would bet that R-comm is the negative common for the right speakers and L-comm is the left
in other words take the L-comm and connect it to the left front and right front speaker negative wires on the cd player and do the same for the right side
so you'll have 2 sets of 3 wires going together.
I did an install for a dodge 3500 recently and it was this way.
Good luck! and please feel free to write back if there's any more questions.
