Audio Systems: 96 Honda Accord Radio Code, honda repair, radio code

Question
Hey.  I just got my car battery changed, and now my radio isn't working.  When I bought the car, I was told this would happen and was given a code for the radio.  I entered the code into the radio, using the 1-6 (which are used to "set" radio stations to each corresponding button), but I can't get the radio to work.  The word "CODE" is displayed, and when I push the buttons for the code, nothing happens...no sounds - nothing.  When I enter in the numbers, should they, at least, appear on the screen to acknowledge that I'm entering in numbers?  Or make some sort of sound?  I've been trying to enter the password for over a week now, to no avail.  I'm at a loss.  I just called up Honda, and the service department worker said I should I disconnect the battery for ten seconds, hook it back up and see if the code works. Is that what you advise to do also?  If not (or if that doesn't work), what course of action should I take?  I appreciate your time.

Joe

Please referrer to this page for removal of the radio.

And then call your local dealer with your information and serial number.
They should give you the code over the phone but some don't. Just try another service department until someone does.
