Audio Systems: Chrysler 6 CD changer, chrysler sebring convertible, abrasive brushes

Question
I have a 99 Chrysler Sebring Convertible.  When the CD is selected, the display on my radio reads "Err  E-01", the CD's do not play, and I cannot eject the CD holder.  Is this something I can fix or does it need to go to a dealer.

Probably time for a new headunit :(
The last place I would take it for that is the dealer.
You can get a nice unit at Circuit City for under 125.00 and can have it installed there as well. They will gaurantee their wiring for the life of the vehivle.
The dealer will likely charge you $300-400.00.

CD players go bad, so get one as cheaply as possible that fits your needs.

You might get you a preventive cd cleaning system for your new one. Preventive and routine are the key words, with those.
I prefer not to use them since they do have abrasive brushes.
