Audio Systems: factory bose sub woofer not working, using a multimeter, how to use a multimeter

Question
Jerry,
In reply to my previous question on 12/18,I don't think you understood what I meant.  There is no sound, nothing, nada, coming out of the sub woofer.  I mentioned that I was a novice as as far as troubleshooting but I do know how to use a multimeter if that helps.  Any inline fuse/fuses to the amplifier that I am not aware of, I am just guessing?  Thanks for your help in advance.    Dan

Answer
so you accepted their word that the sub was good even though you knew it wasnt (and then left the dealer and emailed me?)?

Of course, as you know, using a multimeter is not that hard.

It so happens that Bose mobile audio systems are one of the top ten worst ever car buyer ripoffs. In no way have I seen another reputable home audio company bastardise their name so much to make a dollar in the mobiel audio industry.

I will point out what you said about leaving the dealer (the day you bought the car) with this problem.

Bottom line would be to test the speaker yourself.
If it is working, check the amplifier, preamps and wiring then replace as needed.
Good luck
