Audio Systems: speaker terminal lead?, speaker terminal, negative terminals

Question
Very simple, one of my four positive/negative terminals on my dual-voicecoil subwoofer came unattached from the voicecoil (I discovered this from the pleasant rattle it emits) and was wondering if you could please advise me on this seemingly simple procedure to repair... Usually this leads me to replace the sub, but am very happy with this current one, and figured it to be very easy to fix.  Thank you very much in advance.

Answer
Dear Tim,

As a rule, detached wires can be soldered back into place. You can get both the solder and a (good, hot) iron at Radio Shack. Use the iron to heat the wire and let the solder flow into the repair joint. Try not to get the solder on the iron--doesn't hurt anything, but makes the job messier and shortens the life of the iron.

Good luck. And thanks for choosing allexperts.com!

Kindest regards,

Kevin
