Audio Systems: car stereo, spindle motor, f150 ford

i have a 2002 f150 ford truck .it has a cd am fm factory stereo. all of a sudden my cd player says bad cd when i put a cd in. i tryed cleaning with a special cd that has little brushes on it but it still says bad cd even when i put the one in to clean.
can it be fixed or do i need to replace it ?

The most likely problem with your CD player is that the laser lense is dirty. A cleaner CD will not work if the lense is too dusty/dirty or covered with smoke if you are a smoker. The reason for the cleaner disc not working is because the laser has to see the disc and have a good focus in order for the spindle motor to start turning/spinning. You can try using a Qtip just dampened with rubbing alcohol and gently rub the lense of the laser pick up assembly. To do this you will need to remove the CD stereo from the dash and take off the top cover to gain access to the laser pick up.
