Audio Systems: radio cutting out, auto salvage yard, dodge dakota

my radio in 1992 dodge dakota will play good for  awhile  and then cut out to nothing am/fm radio just fm cuts out is this a internal problem and should i just buy a new one?

If the AM will still work ok without cutting out, the antenna is working ok! The problem may be with the FM tuner module unit. In many cases I find defective solder connections inside the module. You might be able to find a good working replacement at an auto salvage yard.
