Audio Systems: Wiring a New Face Plate, dodge stratus, plug adapters

Question
I am wiring a faceplate (Receiver) to a '96 Dodge Stratus ES. The cross reference sheet for the plug adapters (wire harness refers to a black wire for ground but there isn't a black wire comming from the plug adapters. the closest thing there is, is a brown wire that says mute. any advice that you have as far as what to do with the groung would help.

Answer
Derrick,

ok now sure on what you are installing it sounds like you are just using "faceplate" as reference to a new head unit but all the same i hope you are using a wire harness adapter kit *about 10 bucks from radio shack this will wire in color for color on your new units harness then plug into your stock plug so there is no guess work* now if you cut the factory plug off try to wire it back on color for color and use the above method .. but in most cases you cant .. so here is a website that has wire breakdowns that should help you out .. www.streetdreams.com/wires

hope this helps you out if you need anything else let me know

thanks
