Audio Systems: Car Radio turns on by Itself, vw new beetle, fire ect

VW New Beetle 1999. Radio/tape/CD player is original equipment. The Radio goes on by itself even when car is locked and no key in ignition. Also goes off when car is in operation, then comes back on. on-off-on-off. I come out to car in the morning and the radio is on - spooky stuff.

 its a haunting !! .. no but a realy odd problem .. it could be a loose wire pull the unit out and check the harness plug and the wires in the back make sure everything is nice and secure and there is no damage to the wires ect.. also clean your battery terminals and make sure all your cables are clean and secure .. now if the problem still occurs after the simple stuff i would recommend replacing the unit .. more than likly it has an internal short that is cause the unit to ground out and come on and come off i'm suprised it hasnt blown some fuses yet and it could be a hazard as catching the vehicle on fire ect.. hope this helps you out if you need anything else let me know
