Audio Systems: Cassette Deck, tape decks, chrysler town

Question
Tom,
I hear nothing when I push the eject button.  So, I guess I have no other choice than to remove the radio.  Is it difficult to remove this radio?

Thanks.

A cassette tape will not eject from the cassette deck.  How can I get it out?  I have a 2001 Chrysler Town&Country Van with an AM/FM radio/cassette deck/4 cd changer, factory installed.  The cassette plays, rewinds/fast forwards, but will not eject.

Hello Keith,
I have found several problems with the tape decks in these newer units. first, I have found defective solder connections in the load motor drive circuit and in a few I found stripped teeth on the load gear off the load motor. What can you hear when you press eject? do you hear a clicking or the hum of a motor running? as for removing the cassette tape , do not pry or pull on the tape or you will damage the deck even more so. to remove the tape without damage to either, remove the radio and with the cover off simply manually turn the load gear/s to back the tape out of the deck. Answer
Keith,
Most newer vehicles have a trim piece around the radio. These trim pieces will snap away from the dash and then the radio is held in place by sereral screws, but just in case look for any screws that may hold the trim in place. Please contact me direct for info on having your radio repaired.
