Audi Repair: Audi TT stalling, engine coolant, audi tt

Question
Hi Jan
I have a 2000 audi tt and it drives perfectly for about 5 miles and when i stop at a light it just cuts off. at this point i have to wait about 45 mins and it will start back up and go like nothings wrong. i took it to the shop and it didn't stop for them and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. i picked it up took it home it drove fine but the next day i drove it for 5 miles stopped at a light and it cut off again i waited the 45 mins or so and it started up and drove fine. i thought it was the engine coolant sensor so changed it but that wasn't it. It does not run hot, doesn't run rough,no ck engine light nothing. any idea of what you think it may be.  thanks for you help in advance.

Answer
Why the 45 minute wait, will the car not start right back up?  When it stalls does it just feel like the idle is set too low, or does it appear to cut out?  It could be an airlock in the fuel line, or something could be frozen.  Does it only do this on cold mornings?  A fuel line/regulator could be freezing.  Is the car in a heated garage overnight?

Let me know,  Jan
