Audi Repair: Audi A4 - P0706 Problem, chassis number, loose hope

Question
OMG! I'm starting to become a Audi hater! oh no! I purchased this car in June 07'and so far I've had the following problems... left brake light out, right tail light out, left window fell out, it swallowed all 6 of my CD and it read error code 3, When I pump gas it stalls as if my tank was full and to top it all off I place the car in drive and it does not move, the RPM's go high but with no response, I had it check and the code came out to P0706. The warranty on the car ended in December...What do I do... I'm a female and I don't want to get over prices due to the fact that I don't have much car knowledge... Please help... Thanks, your an Angel!

Answer
Hi Essie,

Dont loose hope just yet, most of the problems except the gear box problem and the Cd are straight forward to rectify. the Owners manual actually has a chapter on replacing the bulbs so you dont need to pay for anything except the price of the bulbs.

The Cd player most likely has a broken gear and wont need complete replacement. find somebody who specializes in electronic repairs as  most of the internals parts match with a lot of other models.

As for the gear box problem the fault code P0706 indicates a transmission range sensor circuit, range or performance problem.

most likely the sensor it self is faulty and needs replacement.

If you could send me the chassis number, engine code and gearbox code I can advise you further on the gearbox.
