Audi Repair: 1999 a6 2.8 quattro usa, cylinder head gaskets, valve cover gasket

hello, my car is leaking oil somewhere on the passanger side of the motor. It also smokes out of the engine bay a little, smells like burning oil. is there a common place where the a6 starts to leak oil after 120,000 miles, or should i take it to a dealer?

Yes a few places, usually the valve cover gasket (=also the easiest to replace) however also frequently cylinder head gaskets (= much more involved)  Fist check is valve cover, and is a DIY job.  Cylinde rhead gasket is probably a delaer job.  Let me know,  Jan
