Audi Repair: Engine cuts out once per trip, EPC light, crank sensor, new sensor

Question
I have 2 symptoms:

1) About 2 miles into every trip the engine will cut out as the RPM's drop and I approach a stop. I can restart the car, but it takes about 6-8 seconds on the ignition. The car won't die again until the next day or the time I drive it.

2)After 10 minutes or so of highway driving, the car will occasionally loose acceleration for a split second, then surge back to normal.

The check engine light is constantly on, and the EPC light will appear after one of these events occurs.

Answer
hello
I hope you have A4, my mom's 2001 A4 had the same problem.
It also set the fault for crank sensor. Car was loosing signal from crank senor and it was cutting the acceleration. So, I will start with new sensor, it's very easy to replace.
good luck              greg
