Audi Repair: Audi S4 Radio, 2001 audi s4, audi s4

I have a 2001 Audi S4 Avant. A few days ago my radio started scanning every time I started the car. When I pressed a button to lock onto a station a beeping noise starts after about 5 seconds and the radio broadcast stops. If I switch to CD without first powering down the radio the beeping continues while the CD plays. There is no reference to this in the owners manual.  Regards,

I have seen radios scaning or just going one up or down every time you start the car. Even my 02 A6 was doing this, but I've never seen it making beep and stop working.In my case new radio fix it, but in yours I will check for any faults first before replacing it, maybe there is something else.
