Auto Airbag System Repair: Airbags for 2000 Honda Acord, honda acord, airbag system

Question
Airbag light is on, took the car to a Honda dealer, they said it is the drivers side seat belt sensor. I was wondering if there could be a short in the wiring or an adjustment for the sensor to correct the problem.  Honda says to fix the problem, you have to buy the sensor and seatbelt as one unit. Thank-you

Answer
Hi Tim:

There is no repair for the internal parts of the seat belt components.  Most of the time, the seat belt buckle is the problem, not the pretensioner and retractor.  Without knowing the exact code, I don't want to guess though.

Check out our company website.  www.airbagsolutions.com
The purpose of this website and company is to help people diagnose and repair airbag problems themselves without taking them to the dealer (if possible).   It offers all the photos and data you need to understand your airbag system, read the codes and reset the light including the location of modules.  It’s a pay site, but it certainly is worth the money ($14.95 for 1 day full access)
You do not necessarily need to buy a subscription to learn a lot about your car.  We have over 100 web pages and info for free.  but if you know the code and want to look up details or want to learn the procedure for resetting the airbag light yourself, you will need to purchase access.
