HELLO. MY SPITS AND COUGHS WHEN I NAIL THE GAS WHEN IT'S COLD. IT CONTINUES TO DO SO UNTIL I HAVE DRIVEN THE CAR FOR AT LEAST 20 MINS OR SO. IT SEEMS AS IF IT IS NOT ACCEPTING THE FUEL. THE CAR IS DEFINITELY RUNNING RICH YOU CAN SMELL IT IN THE EXHAUST. I HAVE REPLACED SO MANY DAMN PARTS ON THIS CAR AND CONTINUE TO HAVE PROBLEMS. I HAVE RECENTLY REPLACED THE IGNITION MODULE, CAP, ROTOR MAT SENSOR, WIRES, EGR VALVE, ECM, BCM, CAT. CONVERTER, ALL 8 INJECTORS, TPS SENSOR, ECT SENSOR, AND PROBABLY SOME MORE STUFF. THIS CAR USED TO GET 16 TO 18 MPG. I AM NOW RUNNING HIGH 11'Ss LOW 12's. A FRIEND SUGGESTED THE MAP SENSOR. THESE CODES CAME UP BEFORE AND AFTER I JUST CHANGER THE MAT SENSOR:E74, E98, E48, E39, E52. THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT CAME ON OVER THIS PAST SUMMER JUST AS MY AC COMPRESSOR WENT. WHEN I GOT THE CAR BACK FROM THE GARAGE THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT WAS STILL ON AND SHUT OFF AFTER A COUPLE OF WEEKS. IT CAME BACK ON A FEW MONTHS AGO AND HAS REMAINED ON UNTIL I CLEARED THE CODES TODAY. CAR IS RUNNING ROUGH. HELP.

Are the codes you are getting CURRENT or HISTORY codes ?.

E74 = intermittent MAT sensor.
E98 = Idle speed control motor fault.
E48 = EGR control fault.
E39 = overdrive engagement fault.
E52 = Battery voltage loss from PCM.


I need to know which codes are Current and which are History.
