QUESTION: The digital re-out on the dash says service ac system, compressor shut off. According to an ac shop here the i need to reset the ac control unit located in the dash by holding down certain buttons to flash the temp,fan,auto/econ computer which is located in the dash
ANSWER: The first thing we need to do is find out what codes are in the computer.
Perform this procedure:
1. turn ignition switch to the ON position only, Do NOT start the engine.
2. On the climate control panel locate the OFF and WARMER (^) buttons and simultaneously push and hold them IN for 3 seconds and release them.
3. Write down everything you see as if you were video taping it and the display will stop at PCM?
4. Turn OFF ignition switch and let me know what codes you get.

AnswerThe FIRST thing we need to do is CLEAR (erase) ALL these codes from the computers and see which ones return.
If you are mechanicaly inclined or know of someone who is, You will need simple electrical schematics, Test procedures and picture locations of the components within the system that is causing you problems of which can't be done on this website which only allows one picture.
