Cadillac Repair: Cruise Control, climate control, cruise control

On a recent trip my cruise control quit working.  It was working fine until I had to break and when I tried to engage it again, it wouldn't come on.  The digital display reads it is engaged but it is still not working.  The service engine light is NOT on.  Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

It would be a big help if I knew the following:

If you know how to check for fault codes via the climate control panel, Please do so just to see if there are any codes there.

The most likely suspect would be the brake switch. Try putting your left foot UNDER the brake pedal and lifting UP and maintain this position and see if you can get the cruise to work.
