Cadillac Repair: Cadillac wont start, cadillac seville, key cylinder

Question
Hi,

My daughter and I have had this problem before, were the car won't start, and
there is no power. We have a new battery and the car has been running fine.
My daughter lost the keyless entry remote and went to start the car and no
go. Before it was something we fixed with the remote but without it the key
won't do anything. We then thought maybe the battery was drained so we
tried to jump it. Well the electrical stuff came on, but the car would not start,
nothing. Do I have to get another remote and if so are they expensive. Oh
yeah the car is a 1994 Cadillac Seville. Thanks

Answer
The fault is not with the lost remote. It is with the security PASS_KEY system of the vehicle.

Fault could be:

dirty or faulty ignition key.
cylinder lock in the steering column where the key goes in.
pass-key module.

You will need to see your dealer.
