QuestionError codes E40; E48; and E58. What are they?

E codes are intermittent fault codes that will not test out.
EE codes are CURRENT codes that will test out.
You cannot diagnose INTERMITTENT codes, But here is their meaning:
E40 = Power steering pressure switch problem.
E48 = EGR control problem.
E58 = PASS control problem.
What you need to do is CLEAR (erase) all these codes from the computer and see if they come back as E or EE codes.
To CLAR the codes:
1. Bring your coodes back up on the display and when you see .7.0 Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and HI buttons until you see E.0.0 and release the buttons.
2. Wait 30 seconds and start the car or turn ON the ignition and recheck to see if any of the codes return as E or EE codes.
