Cadillac Repair: 1986 Devill 4100 E022 code TPS not touched, throttle position sensor, cadillac service

Question
I have aquired car from parents. Air conditioning down and first recommended step was to disconnect negative lead from battery. I removed compressor and freed and lubricated unit that had sat static till it lost all R12. Re-installed with new accumulator and replaced seals. Replaced serpentine belt and hooked up the battery again. Then turned on engine and have a "Service Engine Soon" light. I reviewed codes and only had E022 and E052. After 3-4 starts the E052 went away but still have the E022. Now am noticing occasional stalls on stopping and starting and driving 30mph on the flat. The car used to run great without any complaint. I have checked to see if the are connection issues with the Throttle Position Sensor and appears not. I have not tried to test it yet..
On consultation with Cadillac service locally I am told that E022 can be more than just the sensor inspected. Is this true? Is there something else requiring the car to communicate with a Cadillac computer program to reset?
I am trying to understand why I would be having problems in the area of the engine I never approached when working on it. If I need to, I will see Cadillac if the car has to be "reset" everytime the battery is disconnected.
 Or, is this just coincidence?

 Best regards, Kurt.

Answer
Is the code showing as E22 OR EE22 ?. If it is showing as E22 let's try CLEARING it from the computer.

Use the climate control OFF and WARMER buttons to get the codes and after the codes dispaly you will see .7.0

Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and HI buttons until you see E.0.0 and then release the buttons. this CLEARS the "E" codes from the computer.

Once cleared Drive the car for several miles at city and highway speeds so the computer can re-learn it's sensor settings.

Let me know.
