Cadillac Repair: 97 Cadillac Seville Fuel Gage Problem, cadillac seville, plastic dish

Once my fuel gets below 1/2 a tank it bounces all over the place, any info on what and how to fix the problem? Thank you.

Inside the fuel tank there is what is called a BAFFLE which is a plastic dish about 8" square that the fuel meter and fuel pump sit inside of. Sometimes this plastic baffle can come loose and sloshes around the gas tank hitting the fuel meter and causing this problem and or the fuel meter is faulty.

You need to drop the tank and remove the fuel meter and pump assembly from the top of the fuel tank and reach your hand inside and feel that the baffle is secure and if it is, replace the fuel meter only.
