Cadillac Repair: Cadillac turn signels, turn signal switch, signal flashers

Question
I have a 1993 Sedan De ville turn signels do not work. I have looked for turn signel flasher unit and it is not on the left side of steering column as have been suggested. I checked a 1993 at a salavage yard and located a 1993 and found it in there, but my it is not in that location either. When brake is applied and turn signel handle is moved rear lights will blink, but front does not, hazard flasher works and all lights blink. Could this car have a modual or could problem be located in steering column turn signel.

Answer
Hi Clifford,

For some reason Cadillac doesn't seem to have the turn signal flashers in the same spots and it turns into a hunt. Sometimes they are in the open and other times burried above the wire harness. It just depends who put the car together that day.

If all the lights blink on the hazzard setting but some don't light up useing the turn signal function it is probably the turn signal switch. You would need a wireing diagram and test light to check for power comming out of the switch. Also try wiggleing the t/s lever or holding it just to the turn position and sometimes it will work thereby condemming the switch to be bad.  Your car should have a small round cylinder about the size of a 50 cent piece and 1" long and that is the flasher. Your car doesn't use a module. Bill
