Cadillac Repair: 95 Seville transmission, transmission shop, seville

Suddenly this morning; the transmission seemed to fall int 2nd gear and would not go into OD. The car has 50K miles and has had very good maintenance.  The transmission shop wants to do a complete rebuild to the tune of $2+K. OUCH! Any ideas?

Without personally driving the vehicle there is no way for me to make a diagnosis.

Trying to diagnose your transmission is like your doctor trying to diagnose why you have a headache. What is he going to tell you to do?.

Come to the office so I can examine you.

There are 10 to 15 possible problems that it could be and without tearing down the transmission to locate the fault there is no way to GUESS at what it could be.
