Cadillac Repair: Air conditioning, 305 chevy engine, 1991 cadillac brougham

I have a 1991 Cadillac Brougham 305 chevy engine full power My air conditioning compressor will not run. It was barely cooling so my husband charged it up and it still would not run cold. He then took the system down, vaccumned it out, put a new orifice in, charged the system back up and now the compressor will not even run. When we try to do the diagnostics ( turn the ignition on and press the off and warm) a code 12 comes up without a letter infront and we cannot get to a clear code reading. Any suggestions. We know the compressor is not bad a friend jumped the electrical and the compressor came on and ran cold.

Appears that you have a faulty ECM and or ECM PROM.
