Cadillac Repair: electric drivers seat, coupe deville, solenoids

Question
The seat is in the front position all the way down
only clicks when tried to move back or any other way on a 1981
coupe deville.

Under the drivers seat there is what is called a SEAT TRANSMISSION that has several reversible solenoids and gears in the unit.

Your problem is most likely one of the solenoids and or the electrical switch that controls the solenoids.

is your adjuster switch located on the door or on the side of the seat.


You have to unbolt your seat and lean it backwards to access the seat transmission.
