Cadillac Repair: 1986 Cadillac Seville Instrument Panel, cadillac seville, fuel mileage

My 1986 Cadillac Seville has digital display for the speedometer, fuel, mileage and didtance traveled. I have no display now. How do i fix that?

Hi Teresa, There is a module called a central power supply and that provides the voltage for all those componants. It is located above the accellerator pedal area and is about 5" by 5" and 1" thick. If the part number doesn't end in 406 then the module is probably bad and replaceing it should light the displays. If it ends in 406 it still could be bad but further testing should be done to confirm that it is bad and that needs to be done by a competant tech. You might be able to get a used part and save some money as those boxes are kinda expensive. Try www.junkyarddog.com or your local junk yard/auto rebuilder. Hope that helps. Bill
