Question - Well Bill my brakes have been bad for quite some time and now its to the point to were there is little to no presure when I press down. It gives the feeling that the brakes need to be bled. Now when I took my car to the dealer they said that I only have front brakes do to the lack of presure from the master cylinder. Are They write ? Are trying to take me for a ride?

I wanted to make sure that the part I'm looking to purchase is the right one. I'm looking to purchase a master cylinder/w power boost, it has the ABS SYSTEM for a 1990 Cadillac Seville with a 4.5 liter engin. I saw one for sale howevre there is no picture on line for me to be sure. this piticular part is rather large and unlike any master cylinder. Can you tell me if it is the right one for my car? I found the part on line at Autoparts.com and there are two, one for 41.00 and the other for 110.00.

Hi James, That is an interesting site unfortunatly they don't have a live person to talk to. Since your Seville has ABS brakes both those parts won't work for you. If you look in the description you will see Exc.ABS listed under both. The part you are looking for is quite expensive as you are well aware and getting one at a resonable price you might try www.junkyarddog.com for a used one. Enter the info required and junkyards all over the United States are part of this site and with-in the hour you could get 5 or more prices. You will get the best responce M-F 9a-5p but I'm sure that if you post on Saturday that you will get some responces also. Just out of curiosity why do you need to replace it? Hope that site helps. Hi James, Sounds like they could be right. If the pedal goes to or near the floor before the brakes work then all the lines, calipers and wheel cylinders need to be checked for external leaking. Then try bleeding the system and if still low then the mastercylinder is the likely culpret due to internal leakage. Bill
