QuestionQUESTION: I recently purchased a 94 Silverado. 305, 5 speed manual, 4x4. While driving it home from buying it, I lost all gears. When I say lost, I mean I've got nothing. Shift into any gear without using the clutch and it wont stall out or go anywhere when you hit the gas. The person I got it from said they changed the clutch 1000 miles ago. Which the truck mostly sat since 2009, only being driven around their property since then. Does this sound like a clutch or transmission problem? If clutch, what else would you reccommend I do besides a new clutch kit? Such as the slave cylinder or any other part that may contribute to power failure? I need to have my truck running every day, so please tell me how to do it right the first time so I can keep the beast going. Thank you.

DID THE CLUTCH SLIP WHEN YOU WERE DRIVING IT ??? IF SO THE CLUTCH IS BAD AND IT WENT SOUTH. IF THE PEDAL FEELS GOOD AND THE PRESSURE DID NOT CHANGE AND IT WAS NOT SLIPPING THIS SOUNDS LIKE A TRANS PROBLEMS. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THAT THE INPUT SHAFT OF THE TRANSMISSION DROPPED OUT. [HAD A COME APART].DO WE TRUST THIS GUY THAT YOU BOUGHT THE TRUCK FROM,ANY RECEIPTS ON CLUTCH PARTS.. ??? TRANSMISSIONS USUALLY DO NOT COME APART LIKE THIS WITH NO NOISE....THIS IS NOT A SLAVE CYLINDER PROBLEM,IF THE TRUCK IS RUNNING AND YOU CAN PUT IT IN GEAR AND NO GRINDING IS HEARD WITHOUT USING THE CLUTCH PEDAL THE SLAVE CYLINDER IS NOT EVEN IN THE PICTURE. THE CLUTCH IS SHOT OR THE TRANS IS BAD. QUESTION: The clutch pedal still has good pressure to it...doesnt drop to the floor. But it did feel like something was slipping when you got on it while driving it home. It drove fine...minus said slipping...until I shut it off to grab some grub. Went to leave...and went almost nowhere. It would move at about 2 mph in first gear if you floor it. I got it off a guy in Ohio...found the truck on craigslist. He seemed like a gearhead from looking at his garage. No reciepts on clutch parts. And he had it listed as only needing brake lines, body work and a battery. Turns out it has a major gas leak as well. Called him the following day about the problem...asking whats wrong with the clutch/tranny...thats when he said he replaced the clutch. Then said "sold as-is...it's no longer my problem" There were no sounds of the tranny coming apart when driving it. I lost gears while it was shut off. The truck is jacked up now, but cant check for movement...I put the rear end in my 90 Scottsdale to get it back on the road after shearing off half the teeth on the ring gear. As I said before, itll go into any gear with no clutch and wont stall or grind. And the truck would move if floored, but like 2 mph. Just got a clutch kit, waiting to hear from you to install or return. Thanks for your time and advice. It really helps me doing all of this on my own. Oh, and it was tons of fun driving it from Ohio to PA with no brakes. Got stuck in W.Va when the gears went. Even more fun towing it home from W.VA with a cable and no brakes.

LET ME HAVE SOME,,, WILL YA..ALL KIDDING ASIDE, FROM WHAT YOU ARE TELLING ME THIS CLUTCH IS SHOT,ALONG WITH THE PAST OWNER..WHAT A SCUMB BUCKET. I BET HE HAS SOME LAND TO SELL YOU AS WELL. DON'T BUY IT !!!! I CAN NOT BELIEVE SOME PEOPLE CAN BE LIKE THIS. THIS MAKES ME SICK.. WELL AT LEAST THE TRANS IS OK [HOPEFULLY OK..]TAKE THE TRANNY OUT AND I THINK YOU WILL SEE THE CLUTCH IS DUST..GET BACK TO ME IF YOU NEED SOME MORE FUN..
