Chevrolet Repair: 1995 1500 pickup, fuel pump relay, model trucks

Question
QUESTION: I have a 1995 1500 pickup with the 5.7 engine.  It became hard to start and now it will crank but wont start.  There is on spark and the fuel pump is not pumping. I have replaced the fuel pump and the distributor turns.  The fuses look good.  Dont know where to go from here.

ANSWER: Hi Joe... when you turn key to on, do you hear the fuel pump run for 3 seconds then quit...if not check the fuel pump relay in the power dist box under the hood. check for fuel pressure at the fuel rail..if you have pressure and you have spark then it should run... if you have no spark check the cap and rotor..they are a known problem on these model trucks...if still no spark check ign module and replace if needed...hope this helps

QUESTION: Here is what I've done so far.  I have replaced the fuel pump, dist cap, rotor, plug wires, coil, and the ing module.  The fuel pump dose not prime when the key is turned on.  There is still no fuel being pumped and still no spark.  The rotor is turning when the truck is turned over but it still wont start.  Any other ideas?

Answer
Hi Joe.... if the pump is running and you still have no fuel check to see if when you replaced the pump that you have fuel lines on in the correct spots...is there enough fuel in it for pump to pick up the fuel.for the no start problem check the ign module for 12v and check the fuses for the pcm...make sure you have power on both sides of those fuses....hope this helps
