Chevrolet Repair: NO POWER TO FUSE BLOCK OR IGNITION SWITCH, relay switch, manual switch

Question
I HAVE A 6.2L 1984 DIESEL K10 PICKUP. I WAS USING A BATTERY CHARGER ON THE TRUCK AND WAS GOING TO START THE ENGINE. THE ALTERNATOR WAS DISCONNECTED. NOW I DON'T HAVE ANY POWER TO THE FUSE BLOCK AND NO POWER TO LIGHTS. I ONLY HAVE POWER TO THE GLOW PLUG RELAY SWITCH WHICH IS A MANUAL SWITCH. ALL FUSES ARE OK. IS THERE A FUSEABLE LINK THAT POWERS THE FUSE BLOCK? IF SO WHERE DO I LOOK FOR IT TO TELL IF IT IS BAD. BATTERIES ARE CHARGED UP & CONNECTIONS ARE CLEANED & GOOD AND TIGHT. HELP

Answer
Hi John... There are several fuseable links in that system... i cannot send pics over this link so you will need to find a wiring diagram or a componate locate book to find them all... test them by probing the wire on each side of the link using a test light...if light work on both sides then link is ok... if not link is bad... the main one to try is down on the wires going to the starter... hope this helps
