Chevrolet Repair: Front End Clunking Noises, chevy lumina, ball joint

Question
I have a 94 Chevy Lumina (Euro) 4 door and lately it's been making a clunking sound when I turn right and sometimes when I brake.  The sound seems to be coming from the driver's side front and I can usually feel it under my foot.  Also, sometimes when turning the wheel sharply while backing up, the car acts like it's hitting bumps that aren't there.  Am I in danger of losing a tire here?  Thanks!

Answer
Hi

You should have the front end checked by a technician. A loose ball joint or tie rod could be a very serious safety issue.  If one breaks you can forget about being under control of the car.  They usually break when turning sharp and putting them under load but you should have it check asap
