Chevrolet Repair: 1993 k1500, sensor chips, quality filters

Question
do you know any the correct timing setting for the 4.3L vin code z 1993 , and maybe if any other cheap pick me ups like  advancing  the timing, chip ect....

Answer
Hey,

Warm engine up, disconnect set timing connector Black plug with tan and black wire.  Set timing to desired base (I usually set it to 3 but 0 is spec)  Turn vehicle off. REconnect EST connector.  Thats it.
Cheap pick me ups for a 4.3?  Well timing is one and another one I do is with the IAT sensor.  Fooling it into thinking the ambient air is -40 will lengthen the pulse width of the injectors a bit by unplugging it but it will set your check engine light.  Make sure you have quality filters and a good fresh 02 sensor.  Chips do work but if you really want to rip up the street try one of these with a fat ass camshaft.
