Chevrolet Repair: Problem of starting truck., chevy s10 blazer, s10 blazer

Question
I have a 1994 chevy s10 blazer 2wd (Rear) 4.3l multiport 190hp engine. I had a problem this weekend when I ran the truck. It has been a daily driver from 60k miles all the way untill this weekend (182k).
I had tried to start my truck, and the ignition had stuck on start. And I had to manually force it into run. (The starter kept winding for a second or two.) Then I tried to turn it off. But the truck would not go into the off position on the ignition.
So Then I forced it into off. (And the fins that you turn the key with) broke off. So I started it once more and tried to drive it home to fix it. But unfortunately for me, the truck will NOT shift into Drive. Only the manual 1 and 2 work on it. (Drive at this time is like neutral.)

I got a new ignition installed. And the truck will do EVERYTHING except for start. Do you know what could be wrong  with this? I replaced every fuse I could find on this. I have 7/8th's full tank of gas. And It was driving 100% in that day, then the end of the day this all happened.

Any other information, please please ask for it. I will tell you anything that I know about this truck.

Answer
Hey,

Is there any possibility that it had a bad starter solenoid to begin with and after fixing the column it now won't engage?
Its either that or you are out one tooth on the ignition rack and it isn't pushing the switch down enough. Check for 12v on the starter crank wire when cranking. But check it after the switch. Not at the starter.
