Chevrolet Repair: 02 Malibu Gas smell, fuel pressure regulator, new spark

Question
I have a Malibu with about 90K miles. It has a intermittent gas smell from right side engine that leaks into the cabin. The fuel filter is in the back. Any ides? I have the original plugs in it.When should they be changed? Should I remove & reinstall the plugs to prevent them from seizing in the engine block. Thanks for your help!

Answer
The gas smell could be a leaking injector, fuel line, or most likely a leaking fuel pressure regulator. I would get this looked at right away to prevent a possible fire.

The recommended spark plug replacement is 100k. When installing the new spark plugs use a small amount of anti-seize compound on the threads.
