Chevrolet Repair: 1997 Blazer wont start, dash lights, fuel pressure

Question
Hello again,

My Blazer tries to crank as normal but wont start. The dash lights do not come on at all when I turn the key. I checked the fuses and replaced the fuel filter but I'm stumped about the lights not coming on.

Answer
I would first worry about the no starting condition. If it's cranking normally but won't start, my first guess is a weak or defective fuel pump. That has been the most caused no start problem on these vehicles. You'll have to check fuel pressure to be sure. If fuel pressure is ok, then I'd check for spark and fuel injector pulse. First of all check for any trouble codes and see if your scanner can communicate with the vehicle. You might be better off taking it in for repair if you do not have the knowledge or the tools to diagnose.
