Chevrolet Repair: Chevy Blazer oil cooler hose, chevy blazer, 2000 chevy blazer

Question
I'm trying to install DORMAN Part # 625001 into my 2000 Chevy Blazer. I can't reach bolt that attaches it to the rear of the engine. Is there a specific tool I need to do this job or do I need to raise the engine? I have very little experience with cars.

Answer
Hello Aaron,
Special tools, which are sometimes just regular wrenches heated and bent to fit, are often necessities for some of the close fitting parts.
Swivel sockets on long extensions also help get into those places, although lifting the engine slightly is also occasionally required.

Before removing the retainer, look closely to make sure you will be able to remove the old hose without bending or cutting it, since bending and cutting the replacement is not acceptable. You could end up with the old part out, and unable to get the new one in.
