Question

Answer
Hello Ken,

I found this in the 'question Pool'.  I am not the orginal person you asked.  Here is an attempt at answering your question.  I am sure you are already fixed up though.

Just because you get fuel at the locations you specify, doesnt mean you are getting enough pressure.  You need about 40 psi.  If your pump was to have lost the ability to build this type of pressure, it could cause your problems.  Three reasons for this.  First - your pump is just plan bad.  Second - the relief is stuck open and always returning to tank.  Third - long shot - the screen at the pump is plugged.

Best to get a fuel pressure reading.  That will tell you more.  If you cannot get a pressure reading, the relief valve is not tough to fix.  It is easy to access.  Start there.  Use vice-grips, try to pinch down on the fuel line to the tank and see if that pushes more flow to the injectors.  If so, the relief valve is probably bad.  If not, then you probably need a pump.

Hope this helps.
