Chevrolet Repair: 2000 cavalier trac light, transaxel, traction control

Question
My uncle drove my car, it was raining at the time, the trac-off light came on, he kept driving it with the light on for another 30 miles.  After he returned I went to start it and the check engine light & the trac off light was on, it was making a sound while in reverse.  I shut the car off for approx. 10 minutes and the lights were off and it seemed to run fine, did it just cause the tranny to get hot or could it cause damage?

Answer
Hi Jason... it should be fine...All the light is for is to tell you that traction control is turned off. there should be a button somewhere on the dash where you can turn it on and off. traction control is for when it's slippery out. it allows the transaxel to switch traction from a wheel that is slipping to one that isn't... hope this helps
