Chevrolet Repair: trans dash indicator, wife drives, annoying problem

I just rebuilt the auto trans on my 1999 blazer. It runs nice and smooth. just one annoying problem.When you put the trans in drive the dash says it is in reverse,when you put it in L3 it says it's in neutral, L2 says drive and L1 says it's in L3. When you put it in reverse or neutral it dosen't show anything. Park does show park on the dash.I would like to fix this before my wife drives threw the wall of the garage because she thinks she's in reverse

Yes I know what the problem is.  It is the range selector switch on the side of the trans.  You may be able to adjust the switch or if you can't then you will have to replace the switch and then also check the wires and terminals I have seen those bend or break as well.
