Chevrolet Repair: ECM IGN FUSE BLOWS ON 95 BLAZER, fuse blows, short circuits

Question
WHERE DO I START LOOKING FOR THE CAUSE OF MY FUSE BLOWING WHEN I DRIVE DOWN THE STREET? I WILL PUT IN 10 OR 20 NEW FUSES AND THEY BLOW RIGHT AWAY, AND THEN THE PROBLEM GOES AWAY FOR SOME TIME.

Answer
There has been a problem with electrical shorts on 1995 Blazers. It was corrected in the 1996 model. There is a bulletin out detailing the repair procedure...if that is what your problem is. Going back on my memory I believe one of the gas pedal bolts under the dash on the firewall protrudes too far on the other side into a wiring harness and eventually short circuits the wiring. I think a shorter bolt was the repair after repairing the damaged wiring. Also look at the wiring harness near the rear of the left (drivers side) valve cover. The harness gets pinched between the firewall and rear of engine. I remember Lifting the body off the frame to gain clearance enough to make a repair and reposition the harness.

Hope this helps...feel free to get back to me.
