Chevrolet Repair: Heater blower, external resistor, heater blower

Question
My blower motor is not coming on at all. All fuses are good. The blower does work when I apply 12v. I am getting voltage to the large wire that feeds the relay, but no voltage to activate relay. I have replaced the blower resistor and nothing. Could use a schematic. What do you think?

Answer
Hi Rich,

I found this question in the question trash can.  Once the orginal expert throws it away, any other expert can answer it.  I hope this helps.

What kind of car is this?  I am guessing a Malibu.  This applys to any of them though.  Most of the time this problem is caused by the whole switch assembly going bad.  It is expensive, even at the junk yard.  They burn out often.  Sometimes there is an external resistor to this system.  Chrysler has this and it is located elsewhere in the dash.  In your case it is probably the assembly.

Hope this helps.
