Chevrolet Repair: 99 suburban, battery cables, corrosion

Question
My 99 suburban will suddenly not start, not even turn over, it will be running fine, I will park and get back in and it won't start.  I keep trying then suddenly it will start again.  Had my mechanic look at it but he could find not problems.

Answer
Sounds like your starter is intermittently having an open circuit. It is pretty typical for it to not go for ten tries and then it all of a sudden goes for a while.  I recommend making sure your battery cables are tight and free of corrosion and if they are and the battery tests good then put a starter in you suburban.
